Dr. Aanchal Gupta is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. As well as being a practicing comprehensive ophthalmologist, she has a particular interest in corneal, refractive, and cataract surgery.
Dr. Gupta graduated in Medicine from Monash University in Melbourne. Following her specialty ophthalmology training in Adelaide, she undertook a Cornea and Refractive sub-specialty fellowship at the University of British Columbia, Canada where she gained vast experience in new and evolving techniques of corneal transplantation and micro-incision cataract surgery.
She holds a Masters of Medicine in Ophthalmic Science and a Graduate Diploma in Refractive Surgery from the University of Sydney and has worked overseas in both Canada and the United Kingdom.
Dr. Gupta specialises in micro-incision cataract surgery and sutureless pterygium surgery. As a corneal subspecialist she has particular expertise in corneal transplantation, collagen-cross linking, intra-corneal ring implantation for management of patients with progressive keratoconus and is involved in all forms of laser vision correction including blade-free LASIK and advanced laser surface ablation.
Dr. Gupta is an author on many peer-reviewed research publications and is involved in ongoing research in corneal transplantation. She is a clinical lecturer at the University of Adelaide and also a visiting medical specialist at the Royal Adelaide and The Queen Elizabeth Hospitals.
